Our Story
Tony Devereux grew up on a beautiful farm on the scenic Shenandoah River in Clarke County, VA. At the age of 16, he was managing the family farm to help his father who was working in Washington, D.C. During this time, a major disaster occurred. While loading hay on to a gas powered hay elevator, their 100 year old barn caught on fire. The entire timber frame burned to the ground, leaving only one stone foundation. They hired an old carpenter to rebuild it from the bank up. The carpenter didn't build it back as a timber frame, but did use timbers with a diagonal bracing nail. This was Tony's first experience with the construction of barns.
After attending Virginia Tech, Tony came back to the family farm to start his own business of selling hay. This led into a business of building fences for his horse and cattle customers.
